It's not easy to put into words the impact Nick had on all of us. From his infectious sense of humour to his unwavering love for his family, he touched the lives of everyone around him. We all know how much he adored his cars and bikes, not to mention his love for the great outdoors, but nothing compared to the love he had for Louise, Joseph, Grace, and the rest of his family. This year has been so tough for Nick, despite his diagnosis, he had this remarkable upbeat positive attitude, and so much strength with it, he simply did not want to be a burden on anyone. His needs became complex, so St. Leonard's Hospice became his home for the last six weeks, where that big smile and charm of his won over every heart that walked through those doors.
We all have our memories of Nick, the jokes he told, the adventures we shared, and the moments that made us all feel like family, but during his illness, especially in the last few months until the end, Nick's family was always there for him, taking turns to stay by his side, even through those long nights. That's the kind of love that defines a person, and we all saw it in Nick.
In Nick's Memory, we would like to raise £20,000 for a cuddle bed. This is a special single hospital bed that opens up to make a double bed. This would have made a huge difference for Nick & Louise, and we would love this to be Nick's legacy for the hospice something that would benefit other families in the future. Our aim is to raise the funds before his birthday on 20th August 2024, so we thank you in advance for your support.
